Work privately with Sean Kiani

Before you decide what to do, make sure you understand what is actually happening.

When business, money and personal pressure begin affecting one another, a decision in one area can create consequences somewhere else. Sean starts by understanding the whole picture.

You do not need to know which service you need. Speak to Sean first.

The initial conversation is free.

The problem behind the problem

The problem you arrive with may not be the whole problem.

Clients arrive at very different stages. Some are dealing with something urgent. Some are weighing a decision that has been circling for months. Some simply sense that the position has grown more complicated than the explanation they have for it.

A presenting business, financial or personal concern is rarely isolated. It tends to be connected to other decisions, relationships, responsibilities, assets, family circumstances, professional relationships and future plans.

Sean's role is to slow the situation down sufficiently to understand how those pieces connect, before important decisions are made.

See the person. See the business. See the whole position.

The first conversation

First, Sean needs to understand where you are.

The initial conversation is free, and it is not designed to move you into a predetermined programme.

Sean is not merely collecting facts. He wants to understand the business, the money, the person and the pressures around them, because that is where the real position lives.

The conversation helps Sean understand:

  • What is happening.
  • What you believe the problem is.
  • What else may be affected.
  • What is causing the greatest pressure.
  • What decisions may be approaching.
  • What outcome actually matters to you.
  • Whether Sean is the right person to remain involved.

Sometimes the right answer is that you don't need further involvement from Sean. If that is what he believes, he will tell you.

Where another appropriately qualified professional is required, Sean identifies that plainly, rather than pretending to undertake work that sits outside his role.

Where the position warrants it

Three days working privately with Sean.

Where the position warrants deeper work, Sean may recommend spending three focused days together. The purpose is not to fill three days with meetings. It is to move from uncertainty to understanding, from understanding to choices, and from choices to deliberate action.

Day one

Day One: understand the whole position.

Sean and the client establish what is actually happening across the areas genuinely relevant to the position. Together you identify:

  • The presenting problem.
  • Connected issues.
  • People affected.
  • Decisions already made.
  • Professionals already involved.
  • Immediate pressures.
  • Missing information.
  • Priorities.
  • The outcome you are actually trying to achieve.

Clarity creates calm.

By the end of Day One, the position should feel different, because it is no longer an unidentified mass of pressure. The problem may not have disappeared, but you can see what you are dealing with.

Day two

Day Two: deal with what could hurt you. Then look at what is possible.

First we identify what could cause further damage: what requires attention, what may affect other areas of your position, what needs professional input, what decisions should not be made in isolation, and what needs to be contained or carefully considered.

Then we identify what remains possible: the resources, choices, opportunities, strengths and possible routes forward that immediate pressure may have obscured.

Sean does not promise particular legal or financial outcomes. His work is to identify the areas requiring attention and to bring the appropriate professional input into the picture where it is needed.

Day three

Day Three: turn understanding into action.

Priorities are sequenced. Important conversations are identified. Relevant professionals can be engaged where appropriate. The information and documents required are established. Responsibilities and next actions become clear.

Then you look beyond the immediate problem.

What does the horizon look like from here?

By the end of Day Three, the important issues have been identified, the priorities are clear, the right conversations are underway and you have a clearer sense of where you are heading.

You should finish the three days with a clearer understanding of where you stand, what matters most, what needs to happen next, which conversations need to take place, who needs to be involved, what you can handle yourself, and what direction you are now moving towards.

Not every problem is solved within three days. That is not the promise. Understanding your own position well enough to act deliberately is.

What changes

The difference should begin before the three days are over.

Greater understanding can change the way you speak to your partner, your family, your colleagues and your professional advisers. Not because every fact has changed, but because the picture finally begins to hold together.

You may be able to explain what is happening more clearly, separate immediate priorities from background noise, and approach difficult conversations with more confidence than dread.

People make better decisions when they know the person beside them understands the whole picture.

The objective is not simply to give somebody instructions. It is to help them understand the position well enough to make deliberate decisions about what happens next.

Sean's place in the picture

The whole picture sometimes requires more than one professional.

Sean does not replace a solicitor, an accountant, a licensed insolvency practitioner, a tax specialist or any other regulated professional where their role is required. Those disciplines exist for good reason, and Sean will say plainly when one of them is needed.

His value is holding sight of the wider position while specialists deal with their respective parts, so that a decision made in one corner is not made blind to its consequences elsewhere.

Sometimes the most important question is not simply "Who deals with this problem?" It is "Who is looking at the whole map while they do?"

After the three days

What happens after Day Three?

Three outcomes, all of them legitimate.

I

You take matters forward yourself.

You understand the position, you know the sequence, and you are entirely capable of carrying it. Many clients need nothing further.

II

Another professional takes responsibility for a piece.

A specific piece belongs with a solicitor, accountant or other specialist. You know who to speak to and what to ask them.

III

Sean stays alongside you as the position develops.

Some clients decide they would benefit from Sean remaining involved while things move. That is agreed once the position is understood, never before.

Any continued involvement is bespoke, and it is determined after the position is understood. It is never assumed, and it is not something you should be selecting from a menu today.

The Private Office

The immediate problem may only be one chapter.

Where appropriate, Sean can remain alongside you as circumstances develop and new decisions arise. Where regulated or specialist work is required, the appropriate professional deals with that part. The objective is continuity of understanding, without asking you to start again every time the problem changes.

Nothing more needs to be decided today.

The next step

You don't need to decide what you need before we speak.

Tell Sean what is happening. The first conversation is free. Together you can establish whether there is a reason to take the next step.

Or complete the Discovery Assessment first, if you would rather Sean had the background before you speak.
